HPS Increases Innovation Investment With ROWA Rollout
Market-leading pharmacy services provider HPS is further underlining its commitment to innovation in the sector, deploying ROWA automation at the larger sites across its Australian network.
The technology is being utilised by HPS to assist partner hospitals better manage the flow of patients at peak discharge times, increasing efficiency and improving bed management.
HPS Chief Executive Officer Tony Wyatt said continued innovation was a “core focus” of the company’s plans.
“We are investing significant time and effort in researching technologies and service models to allow us to continue to meet the growing needs of our clients,” Mr Wyatt said.
“The ROWA roll-out represents a $13 million investment over the next two years, but we’re already seeing that it’s delivering significant benefits for our partner hospitals.”
ROWA automation is the centrepiece of the new HPS pharmacy at the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals – a public-private partnership in Western Australia – with the pharmacy also featuring a TGA-specified sterile suite and clean room.
The company has also announced the roll-out of i.Pharmacy technology in all of its 34 sites across Australia.
“Investing in i.Pharmacy is allowing us to provide better, more accurate benchmarking of medication use in like-type wards,” Mr Wyatt said.
“It also enables us to program payment arrangements for individual health fund agreements, which adds to accuracy, creates better reporting functionality to our clients, and makes a more seamless experience for the patient and hospital.”
